Best Restaurants -(Breakfast)
29 Diner
(Restaurants - Breakfast)
10536 Lee Hwy
Fairfax VA 22030
703-591-6720
Description:
FAIRFAX. Don't expect modern decor or newfangled dishes at this traditional diner, which has been around for decades more than five, to be exact and wisely chosen not to fix what isn't broken. Architecture, classic signs, and nostalgic decor appear as they did in the 1940s, and some menu items are the same, too. After soaking in the ambience, fuel up with a hearty breakfast. Enjoy a Western omelet on toast, or try delectable French toast with country ham and home fries. Great for lunch, too, not to mention milkshakes made the old-fashioned way.

Anita's
(Restaurants - Breakfast)
10880 Lee Hwy
Fairfax VA 22031
703-385-2965
Description:
FAIRFAX. Cuisine at this low-key restaurant is not Mexican but New Mexican it takes cues from traditional Mexican cuisine but tones down the heat and adds a homestyle, back-to-basics touch. Making the trek for homemade chips and salsa and huge enchiladas and tacos has become a tradition with some Virginia families, who have frequented Anita's for decades. You can't go wrong with the creative daily specials either. Fun and laid-back with great value and friendly service. Casual attire.

Bailiwick Inn
(Restaurants - Breakfast)
4023 Chain Bridge Rd

703-691-2266
Description:
FAIRFAX, VA. You'll be charmed not only by true Southern hospitality but by the cuisine itself. An ever-changing, seasonal menu features à la carte options at lunch and a fixed price dinner menu. Select a bottle of wine from the lengthy list, and be tempted by wild mushroom soup, saddle of rabbit, grilled veal chop, and sauteed mahi mahi. Great for groups, private parties, and theme dinners (Wine Masters or Murder Mystery). Lunch a la carte entrees average about $15; Prix fixe dinner only, $59-69. Reservations recommended for lunch and dinner. Jacket and tie required.

Bar Rouge
(Restaurants - Breakfast)
1315 16th St NW
Washington DC 20036
202-232-8000
Description:
DOWNTOWN. Bar Rouge occupies a long, narrow space and is dotted with armchairs and comfortable seats upholstered in leather and mohair. The modern atmosphere, along with upbeat acid jazz and international music, provides a pleasant atmosphere for sampling the establishment's many cocktails and small-plate offerings (which are great for sharing with friends). The lack of both a cover charge and a dress code make Bar Rouge perfect for impromptu gatherings. Trendy dress.

Bardia's New Orleans Café
(Restaurants - Breakfast)
2412 18th St NW
Washington DC 20009
202-234-0420
Description:
ADAMS-MORGAN. This is the best place to find a delicious breakfast served all day. From simple to elaborate dishes, the intimate restaurant is sure to please. Have eggs Benedict the old-fashioned way, or try them New Orleans-style, complete with fried oysters and crabmeat. The stylish ambiance is accentuated by jazz music and refined service. Don't leave without trying a beignet, a fried pastry dusted with powdered sugar. Lunch and dinner are also served with full menus and daily specials. No smoking. METRO: Woodley Park/Zoo
